An introduction to British Sign Language – Learn about Deaf culture and how to communicate without using your voice!

This course aims to cover the basics in BSL. Discover fingerspelling, practice the alphabet, learn greetings, numbers, colours and quiz your friends on their favourite animals all through the medium of hand shapes and lip pattern! No previous knowledge of British Sign Language necessary.

Tutor Details

Catherine Andrews joined the Perse Prep in 2021. Whilst studying for a degree in Education from the University of East Anglia, she discovered the beauty of British Sign Language and went on to gain qualifications and tutor BSL. She is enthusiastic about breaking down barriers to inclusion and is interested in Deaf culture and history.
