Scratch Games – Week 1
Cost: £180 (Early-Bird: £162)
Some of the most successful computer games in history have been incredibly simple. From Frogger to Flappy Bird, Pacman to Pong, people have enjoyed making and playing basic games for decades. This course aims to give you the opportunity to make your own game from start to finish! We will be designing and drawing our own characters and backdrops, taking inspiration from the artwork of iconic games, and using Scratch to bring them to life. We will also look at the artwork and marketing used to promote these games, before we create our own cover art. The course is available to absolute beginners who have never used Scratch before, as well as more advanced users of the software.
Classroom based courses will be limited to a maximum of 12 pupils. Pupils will be socially distanced within the classroom and will be asked to bring their own personal equipment. Pupils will sit at the same desk each day, and any ICT equipment will be labelled so the pupils use the same device all week. Classrooms will be supplied with antiseptic wipes for any shared equipment.
