An Introduction to Philosophy – Week 2

Can I know anything for sure? What makes something right or wrong? Can computers think? If you have ever wondered about questions like these, this course is for you! This course offers participants the opportunity to become acquainted with the wonders of philosophy and grapple with the questions that have challenged mankind since the Ancient Greeks.

Covid-19 Update

Classroom based courses will be limited to a maximum of 12 pupils. Pupils will be socially distanced within the classroom and will be asked to bring their own personal equipment. Pupils will sit at the same desk each day, and any ICT equipment will be labelled so the pupils use the same device all week. Classrooms will be supplied with antiseptic wipes for any shared equipment.

Tutor Profile

Jacob Jeffries joined the Perse in September 2019 as a Philosophy, Ethics and Religious Studies teacher. He previously gained a BA in Philosophy from the University of Leeds and proceeded to gain an MSc also in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh.
