From sumptuous starters and clever canapés to crowd-pleasing mains and show-stopping desserts, this course offers the opportunity to master the basics before taking your kitchen skills to the next level and equipping you with recipes and dishes you can easily recreate at home! The course will cover develop important skills for effective cooking and baking, and every day we will make a range of savoury and sweet dishes.
George Smith has been a teacher of history, drama & games at The Perse since September 2016, where he is also Head of the school’s house system. George has taught a number of summer school courses before including drama and sport. George has always been an enthusiastic cook who loves trying experimental and adventurous recipes as well as classic dishes. George loves cooking for other people, and is passionate about sharing and teaching these skills to others. In his spare time, George loves playing and watching sport…and cooking!
Claire Smith has been a teacher of biology at The Perse for since September 2017, where she is also a Head of House. Claire has always enjoyed baking homemade recipes that have been passed down from her grandmother and mum. She loves using everyday store cupboard ingredients and keeping methods simple to achieve reliable bakes that can be rolled out time and time again. In her spare time Claire can be found swimming, going out for dinner or reading cookbooks!
