Mad about hockey? Then you probably think it should be played all year round! So whether you want to sharpen your skills, take your game to the next level, or just enjoy the great game, come and play some hockey this summer. This course promises to be fun-filled and action-packed with lots of games and challenges.

Tutor Profile

Jon Peckett former England and Great Britain Hockey International, will be leading the on-pitch programme at The Perse Summer School. During his playing career he received 58 international caps and won club honours with some of the top performing teams in England and Europe.  Jon who was Head of Hockey at The Perse from 2014-2020, will utilise his 26 years of coaching expertise to provide enjoyable and innovative sessions for players of all levels. Having overseen the development of many talented players in the boys and girls game over his teaching career, he is greatly looking forward to once again sharing his passion for the sport at the summer school.

David Bennett obtained a BA in Classics from Durham University before going on to do a PGCE and MEd at Cambridge. He has taught at The Perse since 2016 and is currently Head of Lower Sixth. He fell in love with hockey at school and has been playing ever since. He has played hockey to regional premier league level and has been involved in coaching since he was 17. He coaches hockey at The Perse and still loves playing.

Nicky Bareham is currently Head of Year 7, PE Co-Ordinator and Assistant Head of Hockey at The Upper School. She holds a BSc Hons degree in Sports Science and Biology and has taught biology, PE and games at The Upper and Prep school for the past 9 years. She holds Level 2 coaching certificates in swimming and hockey as well as a level 1 certificate in basketball. Outside of work Nicky has a passion for hockey playing regularly for Bishops Stortford Hockey Club.
