Age: 7-10 & 11-14
Football – children will develop all of their skills around, dribbling, shooting, passing, control and tackling techniques whilst also focussing on developing match based principles and game play. Age groups would ideally be split 7-10 & 11-14.
James Buckley is a Teacher of Maths at the Perse Upper. He currently coaches our Sixth Form 2nd XI. Before working at the Perse he has coached school Girls’ Football teams, and has played 5 a side and 11 a side for teams in Nottinghamshire leagues.
Nikki Payne is a Teacher of Geography and has played football for most of her life. She spent the majority of her youth at Brighton and Hove Albion FC and went onto represent numerous clubs at the National level in England. Her most treasured footballing experience was playing at the Gothia Cup (The World Youth Cup) in Sweden. She has also played and coached football in New Zealand and Switzerland and holds FA coaching qualifications in both football and futsal. She has most recently played football for the University of Cambridge.
Liam Woods is a Teacher of Maths and Head of Year at the Perse Upper. He coaches our Sixth Form 1st X1 and has coached football throughout his teaching career to different age groups. Liam continues to play 7 a side competitively across Cambridgeshire and also has a passion for racket sports, playing badminton and tennis in local leagues.
Dan Nicholes is a passionate and enthusiastic sportsman. He has been involved at the Perse for 10 years and he is currently Head of PE, boys’ cricket, football and rugby at the Prep. Daniel is a professional sports coach with qualifications in football, cricket, rugby, netball and gymnastics.
