Calling aspiring filmmakers! Are you interested in becoming a writer, director or producer, or even working in one of the technical departments of camera, editing or sound? If so, this course is for you. Join this introduction to practical filmmaking to learn the basics and develop your creative skills in a variety of crew roles. Over the week we will shoot a short film, which you can take home to add to your portfolio.

Covid-19 Update

Film Academy will look a bit different this year. Due to social distancing measures we won’t be able to shoot our own short films, but we will have lots of other opportunities to spark our imagination and creativity. We will watch, discuss and review short films, and learn how films are made. You’ll get the chance to use your visual thinking and creative writing skills. And you will learn how to storyboard, write a script, make a shortlist and plan your production.
