What happens with Covid-related issues, for example if my child has to self-isolate and is unable to attend?

Please do not worry. The Perse Summer School will be following all the required Covid-19 protective measures.  If a child is unable to attend for a Covid-related reason we will deal with this on an individual basis. We will be operating track and trace for close contacts. Please contact us on summerschool@perse.co.uk or 01223 403967.

If one of our course tutors has to isolate and, as a consequence, the course cannot run we will make alternative provision for your child during the day, most likely joining our multi-sport programme. We will deal with associated fee reductions at an appropriate point afterwards.

What are the timings of the day?

  • Morning session is 9am to 12pm
  • Afternoon is 1pm to 4pm
  • Early and late stay is possible from 8am until 5.30pm (charged per day)
  • If you are only attending morning sessions please sign out form our site by 12.45pm
  • If you are only attending afternoon sessions please arrive and sign in by 12.50pm
  • If you are not in the morning session but are arriving for lunch and the afternoon session you are welcome from 12pm (lunch will be served until c.12.35pm)

How does drop off and pick up work?

  • The Perse Upper School on Hills Road has a car park but we ask you to follow our signs very carefully.
  • We will register all children coming onto our site at the gate. We also register departure so it is essential you arrive and leave from the main Summer School gate.

What’s for lunch and how does it work?

The lunch menu is available to see here.

If you prefer to bring your own food that is fine. No nuts on site please (allergies!). Any child can stay for lunch even if they are only booked for morning or afternoon sessions as long as you have selected it on your booking form originally. Lunch will be served from c.12.05pm until c.12.35pm.

What if I don’t know anyone else on the courses?

Well over 500 children come to our Summer School each year. We will look out for you and do our best to help you feel at home.

What happens if I am late arriving or late to pick up?

You can book our early or late stay (They are charged at £4 per morning session and £6 per afternoon session). If your arrangements change just contact us to let us know and we will help. Our site will close at 5.30pm so we can’t help later than that though.

Where these are not pre-booked the School has a right to charge these fees if the child is dropped off early or collected late from the School outside the published course hours.

How do I register?

  • You will be asked for your details once you have placed the items in your ‘basket’.
  • Then you will assign the courses you have chosen to your children by name. The system will save your details once you have entered them the first time.
  • Please note, we are upgrading our booking system which means that you will no longer need to register before placing items in your basket this year.

Can I use my account from last year?

No. Apologies for the inconvenience, but we need to ensure that we have the most up-to-date contact and medical information and it is therefore necessary for parents to re-register. We have upgraded our system to make sure this is easier in the future.

Do I need to register if I am already a Perse parent?

Yes. The Summer School Booking Portal and the Perse Parent Portal are completely different systems.

What information will I need to register?

  • Once you have placed your courses in the checkout basket you will need to complete a form which provides parental contact details. This form need only be completed once for each family.
  • You will also need to provide medical and dietary details and consents for your child/children. You must complete an individual form for each child.

What are the payment options?

  1. You can pay by credit/debit card. When you check out on the Booking Portal, you will be asked for your card details.
  2. To pay using childcare vouchers (2021 is the last year we able to accept vouchers), please see below.

How do I pay using childcare vouchers?

  • 2021 is the last year that we will accept vouchers – we are sorry but the administrative cost of processing child care vouchers plus the fact that some voucher companies do not permit refunds mean that child care vouchers are simply no longer viable.
  • Our payment system cannot take childcare voucher payments directly.
  • You will need to make the payment through the website of your childcare voucher provider.
  • As soon as you have completed your course booking through the Summer School Booking Portal, please log onto your childcare voucher provider’s website and make the payment to The Perse Upper School.
  • It is essential that you make the voucher payment immediately after you submit your booking, as we cannot hold places without payment. It is also essential that you email a screenshot of your voucher payment to summerschool@perse.co.uk to aid us in the verification process.
  • The Edenred voucher number is: P20032284. (Please note that Edenred vouchers cannot be refunded.)
  • The Sodexo ID for The Perse School is: 822537

What happens if I don’t have enough vouchers available at the moment?

Sorry, courses must be paid for in full at the time of booking. We cannot confirm any course before we have the full payment.

How do I know if a course is full? Is there a waiting list?

  • This website will display availability for the courses on the course tiles, however please note that this is not updated in real-time.
  • The Booking Portal is updated live and automatically calculates the available places. Once courses are full you will no longer be able to select the course.
  • Email us to request to join a waiting list.

Do you take group bookings and agents

No, sorry. The Perse Summer School will not accept group bookings or booking from agents, however, as an individual parent/guardian you may register your own children on your account.

Do you take international pupils?

We do take international students, please review the information page for international pupils. Bookings for international pupils can be arranged via MML Global Education Solutions. We expect all children attending the Summer School to have a good standard of English which is explained on the international pupils page. For more information please contact michelle.wang@mml-global.co.uk. 全部详细信息请见国际学生页面

Can I cancel a booking and get a refund?

  • If you find that you need to cancel a booking please first see our Terms & Conditions and then contact the Summer School office by email summerschool@perse.co.uk.
  • Refunds will only be made in line with the Summer School Terms & Conditions which can be found in the footer of this site and on the Booking Portal.
  • See below for Childcare Voucher refund information – this is not always so straight forward.
  • Please be aware that not all childcare voucher companies allow refunds in the event that you need to cancel your booking – you should check with your provider about their policy. This is entirely outside the control of The Perse School Summer School. Please email childcarevouchers@perse.co.uk and copy in summerschool@perse.co.uk to discuss refunds related to childcare vouchers.

Can I change my payment method?

If you need to make any change like this please contact summerschool@perse.co.uk
