The hidden world of The Perse. An opportunity to discover the hidden biological world of the school grounds. From microscopic decomposers to larger herbivores, our central Cambridge location is home to more species than you could ever imagine. An opportunity to see some of our residents under a microscope, learn about the powerful plants we have on site, investigate the complex food chains in the hedgerows, and learn some basic ecological techniques to help us understand the local ecosystems. No previous knowledge or experience is required, but a healthy interest in the living world is a must!
Tutor Profile
Alison Stewart has been part of The Perse Upper Biology department for the past two years and has taught biology both in central London and at a local boarding school for 15 years. With a degree in Applied Biology from Imperial College, Alison loves the practical side of science, and enjoys being outdoors discovering the biological world around us.
