Cost: £169 (Early-Bird: £152)
Students will learn basketball fundamentals covering ball handling, passing, shooting, individual attacking, individual defending, team defence and team offence- all sanctioned by British Basketball. They will also have the opportunity to develop transferable skills such as learning the value of teamwork, handling pressure and a competitive work ethic in a focused and disciplined environment. The basketball fundamentals course is a great way of learning to play basketball and is open to those with little or no experience of the game as well as to those with some experience who will have the opportunity to enhance their skills.
England Basketball have produced guidelines for running basketball, and as a result we are making some changes to this course to allow for pupils to be able to work in the required groups of 6. The course tutor will continue to lead the session, but within each course we will subdivide the pupils into groups of 6, and each of those groups will have their own ‘coach’ in one of our Old Persean assistant tutors. We will continue to monitor advice from the England Basketball.
