Plant Based Cooking

Learn how to use the power of plants to make healthy and tasty versions of your favourite meals

Plant-based, vegetarian and vegan recipes are becoming more popular, but they need to be just as tasty as the traditional versions. In this course, we'll be making savoury dishes and sweet treats that only use plant products as ingredients. We'll cover key cooking and baking skills, how to modify recipes to suit a plant-based diet, and make sure you have the knowledge you need to replicate the recipes at home. Open to all who have an interest in expanding their cooking repertoire.

Course Notes

Bring your own (named) apron if you wish but we have plenty of spare ones if needed. You may bring a large Tupperware/box to take your food home, according to the health and safety requirements of that particular dish - sometimes we can't let you take it as it needs to be temperature-controlled.

Sophie Jones

Sophie Jones has been teaching Chemistry at The Perse for the last three years and has previously worked at a school in Ipswich. Sophie relishes any opportunity to be in the kitchen. She particularly enjoys creating meals from plants to share with her friends and family and is excited to share her love of cooking with her students.
