LEGO® Science and Engineering

TUTORS: Stephen Kennedy

Explore engineering and study science through LEGO® creations

You will explore many different ideas in science and engineering by making a series of creations in LEGO®.

We will look at how forces change the speed, direction, or shape of things.  We will see how we can use levers and gears to apply greater forces or to make things go really fast.  With motors and controllers and plenty of LEGO® the only limit by the end of the week will be your imagination as you put new ideas into practice!

Stephen Kennedy

Stephen Kennedy studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and stayed for a PhD looking at light interacting with materials at very fast timescales which involved a lot of lasers and patience.  Stephen teaches physics and chemistry at The Perse.  He runs The Perse LEGO® Robotics Club, which is planning to send two teams to a First LEGO® League Challenge event in the Spring.  Stephen loves to see the creativity that is possible both with LEGO® and with programming!
