Mad about hockey? Then you probably think it should be played all year round! So whether you want to sharpen your skills, take your game to the next level, or just enjoy the great game, come and play some hockey this summer. This course promises to be fun-filled and action-packed with lots of games and challenges.

Course Notes

Please wear trainers or other shoes suitable for astro-turf surface. It is also advisable to bring your own mouth guard. We have a set of hockey sticks but you are welcome to bring your own (don't lose it - put your name on it!). We also have some temporary mouth guards available if you need one.

Your Tutors

Jon Peckett

Jon Peckett former England and Great Britain Hockey International, will be leading the on-pitch programme at The Perse Summer School. During his playing career he received 58 International caps and won Club honours with some of the top performing teams in England and Europe.  Jon who was Head of Hockey at The Perse from 2014-2020, will utilise his coaching expertise to provide enjoyable and innovative sessions for players of all levels. Having overseen the development of many talented players in the boys and girls game over his teaching career, he is greatly looking forward to once again sharing his passion for the sport at the summer school.

Sean Park

Sean Park has been a sports teacher at The Perse School's since 2013 and is heavily involved in the sports and games programme. As a hockey player, he has Captained Cambridge City 1^st XI, played Masters Hockey for the East region and is currently involved in the coaching at Saffron Walden Hockey Club. Sean is also a very knowledgeable basketball coach having taught basketball as part of the PE and games curriculum. In all sports his aim is to ensure all players have an enjoyable experience whilst being challenge to improve both their individual and team skills.
