Engineering Solutions - Design and Make Table Top Games

TUTORS: Nic Mainiero, Max Mazur

Board games don't need to be boring!

Students will use a range of computer aided design and manufacture techniques including the laser cutter and 3D printing, in conjunction with traditional graphics, hand drawing and layout techniques to create their own table top games. They will be tasked with creating every element of the game including rules, characters, counters and format.

Course Notes

We will provide everything that is needed. Wearing clothes that you are fine with perhaps getting a little dusty or dirty would probably be a good idea - it is an hands-on course.

Your Tutors

Nic Mainiero

Nic Mainiero is the Head of Design Technology at The Perse and has spent 14 years delivering a wide range of design and technology courses. Before that he worked in industry as a product and graphic designer and has a board spectrum of experience from working with the national theatre to campaigns for multinational businesses.

Max Mazur

Max Mazur is the Design & Technology Technician at The Perse, specialising in 3D modelling and printing. He has a degree in Product Design from Brunel University and a background in graphic design, having worked for a sign company designing vehicle wraps and wall graphics for various clients around Cambridgeshire.
