Design & Make Challenges

TUTORS: Nic Mainiero, Max Mazur

Get hands-on to solve a problem

Students will be answering several small design briefs, using a variety of different materials and tools. There will be opportunities to use both computer aided design and manufacture as well as hand tools and some electronics. Students will learn valuable engineering techniques and be encouraged to be creative problem solvers.

Course Notes

We will provide everything that is needed. Wearing clothes that you are fine with perhaps getting a little dusty or dirty would probably be a good idea - it is a hands-on course.

Your Tutors

Nic Mainiero

Nic Mainiero is the Head of Design Technology at The Perse and has spent 15 years delivering a wide range of design and technology courses. Before that he worked in industry as a product and graphic designer and has a board spectrum of experience from working with the national theatre to campaigns for multinational businesses.

Max Mazur

Max Mazur is the Design & Technology Technician at The Perse, specialising in 3D modelling and printing. He has a degree in Product Design from Brunel University and a background in graphic design, having worked for a sign company designing vehicle wraps and wall graphics for various clients around Cambridgeshire.
