For bushcraft please bring the following items of equipment. Please be aware that children likely to be working outside for the whole session and so appropriate clothes should be worn to deal with all weather conditions. Please ensure each item is named.
Richard Chen teaches Physics at The Perse and as a member of the Perse Exploration Society, he is passionate about the outdoors. With over ten years of experience in Scouting as a leader, Richard is really looking forward to teaching bushcraft and backwoods cooking at The Perse Summer School again this year!
Adam Dunajski is a former member of The Perse Exploration Society and is passionate about backwoods cooking. Having completed a masters in mathematics at Oxford, he is now studying for a PhD. He spends his summers assisting on Duke of Edinburgh expeditions as a Mountain Leader, and helping with PES camps. On these trips he likes to experiment with new outdoor cooking ideas, preparing extravagant menus in all terrains. Adam hopes to go into teaching after finishing university.
Myles Thompson is currently teaching physics at The Perse and with a master’s degree in Engineering, he enjoys the practical side of science the most. An Old Persean and member of the Perse Exploration Society, Myles is well-versed in the Summer School and Outdoor Pursuits routine and looks forward to returning for another year!
Jacob Butler has been a sports coach for a number of years and holds qualifications in football, dodgeball, netball, and delivering primary school PE. He is part of the PE and Games department at The Perse Prep and is a passionate and avid sportsman. He enjoys being part of a team and the outdoors.
Edward Shakespeare is a Perse Alumnus and former member of the Perse Exploration Society. Experienced at bushcraft and with particular interests in fire making and backwards cooking, Edward is currently completing his 3rd year of study at the University of East Anglia after which he plans to go into career teaching.
